New leadership programme launches for adult social care nurses from black and ethnic minority backgrounds
|
The Florence Nightingale Foundation in partnership with Deborah Sturdy, Chief Nurse for Social Care, in the Department for Health and Social Care, are pleased to offer an exceptional and transformational leadership development opportunity. The six month programme is open to nurses from black and ethnic minority backgrounds working in social care organisations across England, who have at least three years post-registration experience.
This programme offers supportive learning spaces for nurses to develop their leadership identity, capacity, and capability, enabling them to positively influence organisations and patient health outcomes. |
Kindness and day-to-day practical support are the foundations of sociable living. Homeshare is a simple concept. It brings together people with a spare room and caring needs with people who are happy to chat and lend a hand around the house, in return for affordable, sociable accommodation.
Loneliness, living alone and poor social connections are bad for anyone's physical and mental health. The Homeshare UK team work with a network of providers to tackle these issues, helping carers and those in receipt of care to lead safe, supported and happy lives. |

Oxfordshire is the latest local authority to join as a trailblazer for the Government’s social care reform. It will implement charging reform changes early to end unpredictable care costs for local care receivers.
To ensure a smooth transition from the current charging system, Oxfordshire joins Blackpool, Wolverhampton, Cheshire East, Newham and North Yorkshire to make changes early ahead of a national roll out in October next year. This will include the lifetime cap for care costs of £86,000 for anyone receiving care in England, and a more generous means test to determine financial support from local authorities. |
