Campaign update: 2nd November 2020 Hi Ian
Thank you for all your support this year with the adult social care recruitment campaign. We have been busy evaluating campaign impact and wanted to share a few highlights with you. Campaign performance in 2020 68% of the target audience surveyed recognised the national campaign
Almost 6 in 10 of the target audience surveyed took action as a result of seeing the campaign
Over 1M users visited the campaign website from April to July
10% (94K) of visitors to the website went on to search for a job online
How did this impact those working in the social care sector?
Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey during August. Your responses help us evaluate the campaign's impact in your organisations and inform how we shape future campaign activity. Take a look at the top line survey results: Recruitment Retention 73% of non front-line care staff (Managers, HR, Recruitment) saw an increase in either enquiries, applications, interviews or vacancies filled while the campaign was live. This is a 47% increase since January. 68% of front-line care staff are likely or extremely likely to stay in social care despite the coronavirus pandemic, and only 6% said they are not at all likely to stay.
Has Covid-19 impacted workforce referral? On a scale 1 to 5 (1 indicating no impact on work due to Covid-19, 5 indicating extreme impact), 48% have said there was an extreme impact on their work. However, 54% are just as likely to recommend a job in ASC than before Covid-19, and 19% are more likely to recommend it than before Covid-19.
Focusing on career switchers We are shining a light on individuals who have switched careers into social care to demonstrate the transferable skills that they can bring with them. These stories will appear on the campaign Facebook page, and some will feature in partnership campaigns with a number of national newspapers.
Leigh (right) worked in pubs for 12 years. When the COVID-19 outbreak happened, she decided it was time for a change of career. “With everything happening, care was the sector that needed the most help and I felt I could make a difference and do something worthwhile.”
Do you also have staff who joined from another industry? Get in touch with us if you’d like to contribute their stories.
Flu vaccination reminder This year, with Covid-19 in circulation, it’s more important than ever that health and social care workers are vaccinated against flu. Public Health England is running a campaign to encourage health and social care workers to have the free vaccine. Campaign materials are available on Public Health England’s Campaign Resource Centre for you to order, download or print locally.
The CARE brand guidelines are available to view The CARE brand has been developed to help give the adult social care sector the recognition it deserves. The brand guidelines outline which care providers may use the CARE identity and in what capacity. They’re now available to view here.
