Call for evidence for new 10-year plan to improve mental health [Image created by freepik.com] A call for evidence has opened to inform a new 10-year plan to level up mental health across the country and put mental and physical health on an equal footing. The public, those with lived experience of mental ill-health, and health and care professionals will have 12 weeks until 5 July to share views on how support and services should adapt for the future.
This new plan will build on current progress, assessing how local services can work together to prevent mental ill health.
Social care charging: homes for Ukraine scheme [Image created by freepik.com] The invasion of Ukraine has caused a humanitarian crisis. The government is now asking people to respond to global aid efforts by offering rooms in their own homes or alternative self-contained accommodation to those seeking safety in the UK.
The purpose of recently published guidance is to assist local authorities in dealing with payments made to care recipients who sponsor refugees under that scheme, when carrying out financial assessments in relation to adult social care.

Blogwatch: the race for workplace equality gathers pace [Image created by freepik.com] The social care sector is a richly diverse place, but not always one where the visibility, capability and potential of its workforce is properly represented or supported. That is now changing as part of an empowering workplace initiative well into its first phase.
The DHSC Social Care blog is proud to share multiple perspectives from four dedicated Hertfordshire County Council colleagues, fully invested in the progress, aims and ambitions of the social care workplace race equality standard (WRES).
